Stamped polymer concrete overlay system rejuvenates a concrete breezeway and driveway, from Surface Systems of Texas

Our Exclusive Stamped Overlay System

You've Never Seen Concrete Like This!

Our Stamped Concrete Overlay makes it possible to achieve the look of stone, slate, brick or other finishes right over most existing concrete, without the need for removal and replacement of the existing surface. After cleaning and preparation of the original surface, the Stamped Overlay System is applied about 1/4 inch thick and then embossed or ‘stamped’ in a variety of patterns and textures, then colored and sealed. (see our photo gallery and also pattern choices.)

The unique polymer concrete is revolutionary and extremely durable, but it’s not new. In fact, this product was developed in 1986 for road repair! This system is now commonly used for residential and commercial properties; driveways, pool decks, patios, walkways, porches, steps, as well as interior flooring. It is also popular for interior and exterior floor applications of restaurants, car dealerships, hotels, casinos, retail stores, and theme parks. Today you will find over 3 million square feet of Stamped Overlay product in some of Las Vegas’ finest hotels, such as The Luxor, The Venetian, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage.

And Longevity?

We are sometimes asked how well our stamped overlay system holds up; for example, do we have problems with it bonding to the original concrete, or cracking. Well as they say, 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' Shown below are photos of a floor that we did in the kitchen and living area of a coastal residence in 2004. These photos were taken after the home was totally destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008 - but not our flooring!

The slab was later removed in preparation for a new house, and used as rip-rap to help protect the shoreline of the property. Notice the jackhammer marks, and that most of our overlay is still bonding even after the floor was broken into pieces!

For maintenance, the stamped overlay should be resealed at some point in time. Exterior applications in full sun may require resealing every 2-3 years. Installations out of the sun, or interior floors can go ten years or longer. This is a simple process that restores the finish and the color to like new again.
